About me

My name is Catalina Henao Sanchez most known as Catalineta (artist name given by my friends in high school). I am a portrait and landscape photographer, based in Montreal, who focuses on capturing the magical expression and natural essence in each of my subjects, and scenarios.

My goal is to show how I see and perceive ”reality” and generate genuine emotions creating a deeper connection with the viewer.

I was born and raised on the Andes mountains, more specific Bogota, Colombia (and Cali on Vacations). I have developed a sense of love to travel since I can remember because I have been on the road with my family and with my scouts’ group around the country, which have though me to love and treat respectfully and equally everyone, nature and animals.

I moved to Canada in March 2014 with my family (my parents and my siblings). This has been the greatest change and challenge on my life (to date), it has shown me a part of the world that I only could see in the movies, a city where I can find people from all around the globe to get in love with the different cultures. Also, gave me the opportunity to witness and experience the seasons; to finally touch and feel the snow, to see the amazing colours of the autumn, to get very excited and amazed when I notice the first blossoms in the spring, and miss terribly the warm and long days of the summer.
